Family company, Complete Fan Maintenance Ltd. of Huddersfield run by Managing Director, Gareth Wolstencroft came to Konvekta for a solution to replace and upgrade some Volume Control Dampers in existing, heavily corroded air-handling units.
Gareth and his father Brian Wolstencroft (ex-MD turned Technical Consultant) are regular Konvekta customers. They know that if they need to talk through and find a bespoke solution there is no better place to go.
CFM needed dampers which could be installed within the existing site dimensions, so avoiding having to make expensive and time-consuming modifications to existing equipment. We quoted against site sketches and notes taken by Gareth and offered options on construction materials. CFM’s client chose full, 316-grade Stainless Steel…no doubt convinced by the whole-life-cycle advantages this brings.
The resultant products were based on a number of K300-model VCD’s arranged into large, multi-module 2900mm square dampers and fitted with spring-return actuators. The dampers were made to non-standard dimensions and material thicknesses; the flanges drilled to match the specific dimensional hole pattern on site.
Delivery was made in October and everyone was ‘chuffed to bits’…as they say up this way.
