As a new customer to Konvekta, Window & Door Accessories Limited of Dublin came to us for a specialist solution for the new 5-storey, technology-rich Student Hub at University College Cork (UCC), Eire. They liked what they heard and trusted us to provide exactly what was needed.

The specific challenge was to custom-design our K100-U ultra-low leakage, insulated blade ventilation dampers to fit behind their external rooflight weather louvres.

Our technical department guided them through sizing, specification & installation and we worked with them to devise a solution to this application which had pre-set, constraining parameters. The resulting specification was for K100-U multibank dampers, driven from only one side by a 24v spring-return actuator, set to automatically open in the event of power failure.

The building, designed by world-renowned architects O’Donnell + Tuomey, will provide a dynamic hub for staff, student and visitor activities at the centre of the historic campus.
