When ERG (Air Pollution Control) Ltd., had a requirement for a specialist damper solution, naturally they turned again to Konvekta.

The KHDC-1.1 Heavy Duty Circular damper was selected, in this case with the additional designation of HT400-E. This signifies that these are high temperature, 316L Stainless Steel butterfly dampers with operating temperatures up to 350°C; and a design temperature of 400°C…hence the coding reference.

Bespoke enhancements included the introduction of a thermal break in the drive train coupling. This will help to protect the Belimo® modulating spring-return, electric actuators from the high temperatures. Without it, the heat transferred could damage the actuator and vastly reduce its life-cycle expectancy.
A small detail but one that brings multiple rewards.

These dampers’ high-temperature capability was critical to their inclusion on a ‘Smoke Test Scrubber’ project being installed at the Holywell HQ of Kingspan Insulated Panels, the UKs leading high-performance insulation and building envelope solutions provider.
